Mayor Michael Berens and Economic Development Officer Thomas Westhof Pay a Visit 04/30/2025

It has become something of a tradition for the mayor to visit us every few years to learn about the latest developments at formaplan.

This April was no exception, and there was plenty of news for Mayor Michael Berens to hear from Rolf Henrichsmeyer. Right at the beginning of his visit, the mayor had the chance to meet new faces: with Stefan Bokel and Matthias Miks, two new managing directors have joined the leadership team. Both bring a clear vision and a fresh approach, setting the course for the future of the company.

Our newest "retiree," Jörg Großestrangmann, also made a point of attending the visit. He traveled all the way from Lippstadt to personally thank Michael and Thomas for their support and to say farewell as he enters retirement.

The mayor also toured the new 3,500 m² logistics hall, which was built for approximately 2 million euros. The many changes that have taken place at formaplan in recent years did not go unnoticed. Our managing director reported that over the past two years, more than 10 million euros have been invested in automation (including robotic systems), modern technology (such as building management systems and LED lighting), sustainability (like the new photovoltaic system), and in the modernization of existing buildings (including energy-efficient renovations).

He emphasized that our focus lies on innovation and sustainable growth in order to further strengthen our position as a reliable partner for IKEA.
